Countdown Has Begun for Apollo College and Western Career College to Implement New Name

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Apollo College and Western Career College, subsidiaries of U.S. Education Corporation, have begun the countdown to new names, Carrington College(TM) and Carrington College(TM) California respectively, which will take effect on June 30, 2010. Ten Apollo College campuses will take the new Carrington College name and eight Western Career College campuses will take the new Carrington College California name.

The process of selecting new names began over a year ago and included: researching and testing potential names, development of new logos, creating new advertising campaigns, as well as informing communities, clients, alumni and, most importantly, current students about the "why" of the name change.

"We felt strongly that Carrington College and Carrington College California better reflects what we've grown to become and will be a stronger foundation for where we plan to go," said Andy Vaughn, vice president of admissions and marketing at U.S. Education Corporation. "Once the names were selected, we needed to build a platform to introduce the new names to the community, while reinforcing the fact that our missions and dedication to our students remains the same."

Beginning June 21, a countdown clock was placed on the colleges' website: http://www.carrington.edu/, with the full site going live on June 30 at 8 a.m. PDT. Outdoor billboards will be posted by the end of June in Sacramento, the Bay Area, Phoenix and Boise, with additional markets to follow in July. Television and radio commercials are also scheduled to run in all campus markets.

Permanent signs with the Carrington name and logo will be placed on all campus buildings mid-July. Campus celebrations acknowledging the new names will take place in August and September, and will include ribbon cuttings and open houses.

Favoritenwechsel
