Indiana's official Web site (http://www.IN.gov) continues to be among the state's most accessed and heavily used platforms to communicate and conduct business with constituents. In the past, the site has been recognized for offering timesaving online government services to citizens and businesses. Earlier this month, IN.gov introduced a fresh new look in an effort to better serve all people seeking access to state information.
This year, IN.gov is launching many new functions and access points, including:
- An enhanced application search feature;
- A mobile-optimized version of most agency websites as well as specialized mobile phone services;
- The YouTube Indiana government channel;
- Updated Twitter feed functionality;
- Expanded use of built-in screen reader functionality; and
- An enhanced calendar solution to provide streamlined access to frequently sought events and information.
Many of these additional enhancements are designed to help citizens and businesses efficiently access information and to introduce new and innovative tools and information.
IN.gov offers more than 150 interactive services, including professional license renewals, license look-up services, tax related services, and recreational permitting services. "These conveniences are focused on meeting the needs of interaction between Indiana government and its constituency, while also meeting the goals of the state's electronic government initiative," said Brian Arrowwood, Indiana's Chief Information Officer. IN.gov processed nearly six million eGovernment transactions electronically last year.
IN.gov is developed, hosted, and maintained by Indianapolis-based Indiana Interactive, LLC, part of eGovernment firm NIC's (NASDAQ: EGOV) family of companies.
