Wiley X Providing Sunglasses, Giveaways and Support for On and Off Track Events, Including Debut of "New Look" #33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Impala and Celebrity Beach Volleyball Tournament
Wiley X® Inc. is recognized worldwide as a leading provider of premium protective sunglasses for top NASCAR drivers, NHRA drivers, professional bass anglers and other "speed-driven" athletes. So, it's entirely fitting that Wiley X is currently working with Kevin Harvick®, Inc. (KHI), the Kevin Harvick® Foundation, Rheem Heating, Cooling and Water Heating Products and others to support Rheem Week at Daytona, June 23-July 2, taking place in various locations around Daytona Beach, Florida.
The centerpiece of these festivities will be the debut of the new Rheem "Pool Shark" #33 KHI Impala, specially designed to promote Rheem swimming pool heaters to the Florida market. This paint scheme includes a sleek-looking shark-like front and a special beach ball graphic motif (a beach ball caricature wearing Wiley X shades), making it one of the most prominent uses of Wiley X on a NASCAR vehicle. The "Pool Shark" Impala will make its racing debut at Daytona International Speedway — the birthplace of NASCAR — on Friday night, July 2. Rheem, Wiley X and the Kevin Harvick® Foundation will treat 100 deserving youngsters and supervisors of the Volusia and Flagler County Boys and Girls Clubs to the race, along with Rheem T-Shirts, Wiley X sunglasses, food and beverages, photographs and autographs with NASCAR personalities. Additional satellite radio advertising on Sirius sponsored by Wiley X will promote Wiley X products, the Kevin Harvick® Foundations, and Rheem.
In addition, there will be a variety of marketing/promotional events leading up to the race, and Wiley X will be there "front and center" throughout the week. This includes a variety of pre-race appearances for the Rheem "Pool Shark" car, including at a July 1 celebrity beach volleyball tournament to support the Kevin Harvick® Foundation and benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia and Flagler Counties. This special event features Kevin and DeLana Harvick, fellow NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace and NASCAR media stars Allen Bestwick, Matt Yocum and Adam Alexander squaring off against representatives of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Fifty children will be hosted on a planned field trip to the beach event for fun activity and lunch.
As part of this event, Rheem will also present a $50,000 check to Kevin Harvick and the Kevin Harvick® Foundation in support of programs that positively enrich the lives of children throughout the United States.
Wiley X's Mobile Marketing Unit — an eye-catching display designed to promote the many benefits of Wiley X Eyewear and its full line of products — will be appearing at many of the venues, including Daytona International Speedway.
"This is a rare combination, providing Wiley X with the opportunity to participate in a fantastic series of high-profile promotions while benefiting some very deserving kids," said Wiley X Eyewear President Myles Freeman, Jr.
"We're proud of our association with Kevin Harvick® and excited about teaming up with Rheem to support their efforts on and off the track," he added.
