Global Indemnity plc Appoints James W. Crystal to its Board of Directors

DUBLIN, July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Indemnity plc today announced the appointment of James W. Crystal as a Director. The appointment is effective July 6, 2010.

"Jim's exceptional property & casualty insurance expertise, unique industry perspective, and extraordinary professional accomplishments will significantly enhance our Board of Directors," said Saul Fox, Chairman of Global Indemnity plc. Mr. Crystal is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Frank Crystal & Company, one of the largest privately owned insurance brokerages in the United States. The firm was founded in 1933 and today, under Mr. Crystal's direction, ranks among the top five percent of insurance brokerage firms worldwide, serving over 9,500 clients from its corporate New York headquarters with offices in California, Florida, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington State, and District of Columbia.

Known as an industry expert, with more than 40 years of insurance experience, Mr. Crystal is thoroughly knowledgeable of the insurance needs for a broad spectrum of business and industry. He has built a client roster for the firm that includes many of the foremost stock brokerage houses, investment banking firms, and commercial banks, as well as Fortune ranked companies.
