CenterState Banks, Inc. Announces Commencement of $30 Million Common Stock Offering

DAVENPORT, Fla., July 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CenterState Banks, Inc. (the "Company") announced today that it has commenced an offering of approximately $30 million of its common stock in an underwritten public offering through Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. The Company intends to grant the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the shares sold to cover over-allotments, if any. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods is serving as managing underwriter of the offering.

The shares will be issued pursuant to a prospectus supplement filed as part of an existing effective shelf registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") on Form S-3.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to support its growth, including the previously announced acquisition by its wholly owned subsidiary, CenterState Bank of Florida, N.A., of substantially all the deposits and assets of Olde Cypress Community Bank, Clewiston, Florida, possible future acquisitions of other banks with FDIC assistance and unassisted acquisitions of whole banks, bank branches and various lines of business. The Company expects to use any other net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including working capital needs.
