GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) announces the first installations of the Optima MR360 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging system in Germany, Japan and India, offering the right balance of productivity and precision.
The Optima MR 360 systems have been installed at Roentgeninstitute & Brustdiagnostik in Nuremberg, Germany, in Toyoma, Japan at Yatsuo Sogo Hospital, and at Platinum Imaging Centre in New Delhi, India.
The new Optima MR360 is well suited for a wide range of MR scanning needs—with the ease of operation to help make a clinician's staff more productive. For streamlining routine scans, the Optima MR360 incorporates an express exam approach to MR. It includes many intuitive and automated functions that help increase patient comfort, operator confidence, image consistency, and professional satisfaction of MR staff.
With its Ready Interface, a user-friendly control center, the Optima MR360 system requires fewer steps to optimize scan parameters. The Optima MR360 offers Intuitive Shortcuts, enabling users to easily access their most common protocols. Its Ready Bar Control reduces 30 inputs with a single control, simplifying scan optimization while experienced users maintain full control of all parameters. The system also offers Ready Brain, a new acquisition technique that automatically determines slice alignment for brain scans.
Dr. Fujii, Director of Yatsuo Sogo Hospital in Japan said, "I'm really satisfied with the image quality of GE Healthcare's Optima MR360, especially using the IDEAL application, for wonderful fat/sat images of the cervical area."
"The ultra-modern Optima MR360 makes it possible for us to conduct a wide range of flexible and efficient MR examinations", explains Dr. Hubertus Gloger, radiologist at the Röntgeninstitut und Brustdiagnostik-Zentrum in Nuremberg. "Thanks to the time-saving recording techniques as well as simplified workflows, we hope to examine patients in a shorter time. Our objective is for more people to thus be able to benefit from a best possible diagnostic examination. In addition, the new system consumes less energy and has a sustainable technology", added Dr. Gloger.
"With more than 25 years' experience in MR innovation and refinement, the Optima MR360 is engineered around the high-definition platform our customers know and trust," said Jim Davis, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare's Magnetic Resonance business. "The system includes remarkable flexibility and efficiency to deliver benefits for technologists, offering ease of use and confidence; radiologists who receive expanded capabilities; and administrators seeking satisfied patients, efficient throughput and opportunities for growth."
*The Optima MR360 and Brivo MR355 systems are not approved or cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are not available in USA.
