PLANO, Texas, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dr Pepper Snapple Group confirmed today that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) determined the company had bargained in good faith and had reached a lawful bargaining impasse with the union representing more than 300 employees at DPS's Mott's plant in Williamson, N.Y.
The NLRB dismissed unfair labor practice charges that were filed by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) shortly after union employees in Williamson went on strike May 23. The board's notification coincides with a vote yesterday by union employees ratifying a three-year labor contract, ending the strike.
"We maintained all along that we bargained in good faith with the RWDSU," said Larry D. Young, president and CEO of DPS. "From the beginning of our negotiations, we sought an agreement that supported our business, and we're very pleased with this resolution."
The agreement comes after union members on Monday ratified the same terms they had rejected overwhelmingly in a Sept. 2 vote.
