Bounty Provides a Clean Start to the New School Year With Reveal of $25,000 Art Classroom Makeover in New Jersey / Cortney & Bob Novogratz of "9 By Design" Unveil New Classroom Design at School Pep Rally

CINCINNATI, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Procter & Gamble's Bounty brand today revealed the clean, creative and inspiring art classroom that John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Wayne, NJ received after winning Bounty's Make a Clean Difference $25,000 Contest. Designed and created by Cortney and Bob Novogratz of Bravo's "9 By Design," during Arts in Education Week (September 12-18) the classroom was transformed into a modern and fun artist's workspace while addressing the needs of the room.

In one week, more than 14,000 people voted in Bounty's Make a Clean Difference contest that was designed to engage parents and teachers nationwide to become part of the effort to provide clean and fun learning environments for children. For the winning school, the Novogratzes consulted with the Principal, Richard Erck and art teacher, Mary Beth Kopacz to gather feedback on what design elements and art supplies would work best for teaching the 467 kids enrolled at J.F.K. Elementary.

The design team learned that the storage areas and some of the art equipment was dated and in need of major repair, as well as the room having limited technology and computers, compared to other classrooms in the school. To address these needs, new features in Ms. Kopacz's room include a new, fully functioning kiln to create pottery, three computers for kids to learn and practice their graphic arts skills, and a flat screen projector for her to teach lessons on so kids can really get hands on in the project. To maintain a clean learning environment, the school also received a supply of Bounty paper towels to clean up creative spills and messes throughout the year.

"In schools, where every dollar counts and administrators are trying to stretch the value of their budgets, unfortunately, arts programs are very often left without sufficient funding," said Jessica Goldberg, assistant brand manager, Bounty. "This year, through Make a Clean Difference, we wanted to focus on the arts. With this new 'clean canvas,' the Novogratzes have addressed all the needs of the art room, and then some. We're sure to see some amazing artwork and creativity coming from the students of J.F.K. for years to come."
