LAGUNA HILLS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/25/10 -- Iconosys, Inc. is proud to announce a primary sponsorship agreement for its Smartphone safety technology Drive Reply™ with NASCAR driver Michael McDowell, 25, and the MacDonald Motorsports racing team. McDowell will be driving a Dodge Charger featuring the Drive Reply™ logo at the Nationwide Series event, the Dover 200, at Dover International Speedway on Saturday, September 25th in Dover, DE.
"I am especially excited to have the Drive Reply™ technology on my car as the lead sponsor starting with Saturday's race at Dover's Monster Mile," remarked Michael McDowell. "Together with Iconosys, Team 81 is sending a message to every driver out there to stay focused on the road and avoid distractions that can cause disastrous results."
Iconosys, Inc., a leader in the development of innovative mobile and stationary telecommunications applications and technologies, introduced its proprietary Drive Reply™ technology earlier in the year. DriveReply™ reduces battery consumption by up to 50 percent and offers simple, focused driver-attendant software that helps protect users, and ultimately, save lives by promoting safe, distraction-free driving.
"As a NASCAR driver who performs regularly at ultrahigh speeds in front of 70,000 fans and millions more on TV, I can't afford to be distracted while driving, and that is also true of any driver," adds McDowell. "Drive Reply™ is the only product I know of that automatically responds to calls and texts with a fully customizable response while allowing the driver to stay focused on the road."
"We are very excited to be working with Team 81 and MacDonald Motorsports and Michael McDowell who is certainly someone who can relate to our product," commented Wayne Irving II, CEO and co-founder of Iconosys. "If a professional, competitive driver needs to be totally focused while driving what does that say about everyday drivers? Distracted driving can cause terrible accidents and death anywhere, not just on racetracks; and our apps powered by Drive Reply™ allow drivers to be focused and safe on the road."
The download costs, for a lifetime license, $16.95, is available for Android, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry for purchase at www.drivereply.net and from the Android and BlackBerry World Marketplaces, and includes free upgrades for one year from the date of purchase. The phone is silenced yet continues to run in the background, managing your SMS and call traffic while allowing the driver to remain focused on his/her primary task -- driving.
DriveReply™ Features Include:
- Auto reply to inbound Voice Calls and SMS messages while driving

About MacDonald Motorsports
While the company carries his last name, owner Randy MacDonald named it not after himself, but after the family that has continually offered support in his racing career. His father, Merrill "Doc" MacDonald, and mother Pat were there even before the foundation of the company, making provisions for Randy's racing dream early in his life. After Randy began racing professionally and established his own company, his entire family continues to support him. His wife Gina helps with bookkeeping and finances, mother Pat helps with administrative duties and sister Teri helps with marketing and public relations and has, at times, taken on driving and spotting duties. Randy's father Doc helped him establish business relationships and carry out other important functions of the team until finishing his own race in March of 2007. Despite his death, Doc's impact on the team will not end, as MacDonald Motorsports continues on his honor and memory.
