Applied Discovery and Digital Wyzdom Establish Exclusive Partnership for E-Discovery Services in Canada / Applied Discovery powered by Digital Wyzdom to become the E-Discovery leader in Canada

BELLEVUE, Wash. and TORONTO, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Discovery Inc., a division of LexisNexis and leader of multinational e-discovery services for law firms, corporations, and government agencies, today announced an exclusive partnership with Digital Wyzdom Inc. to provide e-discovery services throughout Canada.

The partnership between Applied Discovery and Digital Wyzdom provides Canadian law firms, corporate legal departments and government entities the benefit of processing and hosting all data within Canada while allowing clients the ability to review using the world class Applied Discovery® Leverage(TM) Review Suite. In addition, the partnership provides Canadian clients local technical support for the entire suite of services. Applied Discovery and Digital Wyzdom will provide collection, preservation, analysis, and data forensics in addition to Canadian based data processing and hosting.

"Applied Discovery recognizes that the e-discovery needs of the Canadian market are starkly different from those of our clients in the United States," says Jon Resnick, global vice president of sales, marketing and consulting at Applied Discovery. "When we decided to expand into Canada, our highest priority was to identify a partner whose reputation as experts matched our own. Digital Wyzdom-with solid investigative experience, computer technology expertise and profound understanding of the Canadian judicial system-was the clear choice."

The Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure were amended on Jan. 1, 2010, to directly address electronically stored information, including mandatory discovery plans and a new proportionality rule. As a result, lawyers will require documents to be organized, searchable, and relevant to a case while resisting so-called data dumps that drown the parties and court in paper.

"We are proud to launch our joint offering: Applied Discovery powered by Digital Wyzdom," said Daniel Tobok, president of Digital Wyzdom.

To prepare for the new working relationship with Digital Wyzdom, over the previous year Applied Discovery made substantial investments in its Canadian infrastructure and conducted extensive joint testing with Digital Wyzdom to insure accurate and reliable client results.

"These were real-life simulations, where we got the call, picked up a hard drive, imaged it, and so on. We wanted to see how the entire process worked in reality-not theory. So, as we make this announcement, we can confidently handle even the most complex e-discovery matters," added Tobok.
