Design and brand strategy consultancy Lippincott is proud to announce that Senior Partner Randall Stone has been named to DDI Portfolio Awards' annual list of top "retail design influencers". Stone, who is Lippincott's director of customer experience and retail design, accepted the award at the DDI Portfolio Awards dinner on September 25 in Santa Rosa, California.

Stone is based in Lippincott's New York office where he heads the firm's retail design group, and is a member of the firm's executive committee. He is an architect and consultant with over 25 years' experience in retail identity, design and customer experience. His leadership in the retail industry ranges from the creation of flagship and prototype store designs to concept and planning of mixed-use retail centers and attraction-based concepts. In addition, Stone has helped pioneer Lippincott's sensory branding capabilities, developing signature scents, sounds and tactile expressions for many global clients.
Stone delivers a broad understanding of brand and retail strategy, positioning, visual merchandising and retail communications (including environmental multimedia) and architecture/interior design. He has worked with Champs Sports, Citizens Bank, Disney, Foot Locker, Ghirardelli Chocolate, HMV Record Store, Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt Andaz, Wyndham, Infiniti, The Limited, Mashreq Bank, McDonald's, Mobily, Nissan, Penske Automotive Group, RadioShack, Samsung, Starbucks, Sony, TACA Airlines and United Airlines.
Previously, Stone was the senior environmental design director at Interbrand in New York and prior to that he was with Elkus/Manfredi Architects in Boston.
A sought-after speaker, Stone has lectured on retail and experiential design at both Rhode Island School of Design and Harvard University. He is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, ABA Journal, Newsweek, Visual Merchandising & Retail Design, Convenience Store News and STEP. He has distinguished himself academically with numerous awards and within the industry by managing the design and development of ISP/VM+SD award-winning projects for Citizens Bank, Foot Locker, RadioShack, Samsung and the World of Disney. He is currently on the editorial board of VM+SD magazine.
Stone holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. in architecture and building design from Columbia University.
