As part of Univision Network's "Destino 2010" coverage and its continued national effort to inform the community about the historic electoral process, Univision Television Group hosted the first debate for candidates for Governor of Florida, Rick Scott (R) and Alex Sink (D). The gubernatorial debate, which was the first-ever Spanish-language debate and the first encounter between candidates for Governor in the state, aired on Univision Friday on its affiliate stations as well as on Univision Radio WQBA 1040 Miami.
The debate in its entirety – or divided by topics – is available in English and Spanish on www.univision23.com. Univision's landmark gubernatorial debate, held Friday at Univision Network's headquarters in Miami, Florida, served as a unique opportunity for the candidates to reach a fast-growing Florida Hispanic electorate that will represent a critical role in the upcoming election. Republican Scott and Democrat Sink addressed important issues for the Hispanic community, including the economy, healthcare and immigration. In addition, during this heated debate, the candidates responded to charges that each has made against the other during this campaign.
