Alaska Air Group Reports October Operational Results

SEATTLE, Nov. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alaska Air Group, Inc. today reported October operational results for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines (Alaska) and Horizon Air (Horizon).

ALASKA AIRLINES

Alaska reported a 15.9 percent increase in traffic on a 9.1 percent increase in capacity, resulting in a 4.8-point increase in load factor to 81.8 percent. Alaska also reported that 88.1 percent of its flights arrived on time in October 2010, a 2.3-point increase compared to the 85.8 percent reported in October 2009.

The following table shows the operational results for October 2010 and for the first ten months of 2010, compared to the prior-year periods:

Horizon reported a 3.5 percent decline in traffic on a 5.5 percent decline in capacity compared to October 2009, resulting in a 1.5-point increase in load factor to 74.9 percent. Horizon also reported that 85.0 percent of its flights arrived on time in October 2010, a 2.1-point decrease compared to the 87.1 percent reported in October 2009.
