Veyance Technologies, Inc. today announced that John S. Hamilton has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Timothy R. Toppen. Mr. Hamilton, who most recently was President and Chief Executive Officer of Electro-Motive Diesel in LaGrange, IL, will assume his new duties on November 8 and be based in Fairlawn, OH.

Mr. Hamilton served as President and CEO of Electro-Motive Diesel from 2003 – 2010. In 2003, Mr. Hamilton worked with private equity backers to acquire Electro-Motive Diesel from General Motors. Under his leadership, the company returned to growth and profitability and was recently sold to Caterpillar.
Prior to Electro-Motive Diesel Mr. Hamilton served in several management and executive positions at Tokheim Corporation (President and CEO), The Harbor Group (Group President), Fairchild Fasteners, Honeywell International, McKinsey & Company, Inc. and International Business Machine Corp.
Mr. Hamilton earned his M.B.A. in economics and marketing from the University of Chicago and his B.S.E. in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University.
