Justin Allgaier wins $75,000 Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash Cumulative Points Bonus
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the paycheck ofNASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Carl Edwards and Justin Allgaier, after thecheckered flag waved at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway.
Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 60 Copart.com Ford, won $75,000 after winning the final Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash race of the 2010 season. Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge, collects a $75,000 Dash 4 Cash season ending bonus for a non-Cup, NASCAR Nationwide Series regular who earned the highest cumulative points from the four Dash 4 Cash races at Nashville, Kentucky, Iowa and Texas.
After ineligible drivers won three of the four Dash 4 Cash races, the $25,000 bonus from each of those races continued to roll to the next event, making Carl Edwards' race bonus $75,000 at Texas Motor Speedway.
"We created the Dash 4 Cash bonus program to provide an incentive for NASCAR Nationwide Series race teams to crank it up a notch on the track and increase the racing excitement for fans," said John Aman, associate vice president of strategic sponsorships for Nationwide Insurance. "The racing was outstanding in all of the Dash 4 Cash events and we're proud to present Carl and Justin with these bonuses."
This is the second year for Nationwide Insurance's Dash 4 Cash competition implemented by Nationwide, NASCAR and ESPN, at four races - Nashville (4/3), Kentucky (6/12), Iowa (7/31) and Texas (11/6).
The program was open to all NASCAR Nationwide Series regulars and up-and-comers, including those who may not have a full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series ride. NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers with a full time ride in NASCAR Sprint Cup had to enter every NASCAR Nationwide Series event in order to qualify for each of the individual cash payouts. To be eligible for the year-end bonus, drivers cannot participate in more than seven NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races during the season.
Brad Keselowski was the big winner in 2009 – winning the $75,000 rollover bonus at Iowa Speedway, $25,000 in Memphis and taking home a $50,000 season bonus.
