WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/10/10 -- DLA Piper will host the US i-Gaming Summit, a special conference focused on Internet gambling policy, at the firm's office in Washington, DC, on Dec. 10, 2010. The summit, subtitled "Meeting the Needs of Many Interests," is produced jointly by DLA Piper and Spectrum Gaming Group, and is sponsored by American University.
"As federal and state officials consider avenues toward legal Internet wagering in the United States, we are committed to finding answers to the many questions that have arisen, as well as many questions that have yet to be considered," said Timothy Lowry, attorney at DLA Piper.
"Internet gaming policy in the United States should be developed carefully from the outset, and many voices are seeking to be heard -- from commercial casinos to tribal operators and from state governments to European operators. This event can provide both a focus and a forum for such views," said Michael Pollock, managing director of Spectrum Gaming Group.
The half-day conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. at DLA Piper's offices at 500 8th Street NW. The registration fee is $85; the government rate is $45. Seating is limited. To register, contact events@spectrumgaming.com.
Confirmed speakers include Breon Corcoran, chief operating officer, Paddy Power PlC; Tim Lowry, attorney, DLA Piper; Paul Miltenberger, senior associate for online gaming, Spectrum Gaming Group; William J. Pascrell, III, Esq., Partner, Princeton Public Affairs Group, Inc.; Michael Pollock, managing director, Spectrum Gaming Group; Melissa Riahei, general counsel, Illinois Lottery; Mark Van Norman, executive director, National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA).
