TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/11/10 -- Editors Note: There is a video associated with this press release.
marblemedia today announced a nation-wide contest-Namethis.ca-which allows Canadians to submit suggestions for yet-to-be-named people, places and things. From Chef Susur Lee's new restaurant to Canada's latest electric car, audiences will have the opportunity to leave their mark on history by naming some of Canada's most noteworthy new products. Other items include: a doughnut, a beer, and, even a hockey team. Participants have a chance to win one of 13 tablet computers.
Some of the most intriguing and thought-provoking names will be profiled in a forthcoming TV series that will air on History Television in 2011. What's more, audiences are being asked to name the TV series itself, with a grand prize of $5,000 CAD offered to the winner.
Starting today and for the coming months, audiences can enter the contest at Namethis.ca where they will be asked to submit names to assist corporations, entrepreneurs and even well-known personalities in making a final decision on what to call their soon-to-launch product such as a new perfume, a rock band or a lipstick. Suggested names and final decisions will be featured on the yet-to-be-named television series; consumers who choose not to suggest a name can still participate by voting on their favourite naming suggestions.
"This unique contest allows Canadians to get involved in this ambitious nation-wide naming event, and leave their mark on history," says Matt Hornburg, Executive Producer/Partner, marblemedia. "Canadians have always been known for great ideas and stories, so we're looking forward to hearing their great suggestions and feedback, and of course offering them a chance to win great prizes."
