Mobile Data Corp To Re-Brand Its Child Safety Application Developed Exclusively For BlackBerry(R) SmartPhones

SAN JOSE, CA, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile Data Corp. (OTCBB: MBYL) announces that, further to the news release of September 8, 2010, which discussed the development and testing of our parental monitoring and child protection application, the Company announces that the product has been re-branded as the MDC-KidTracker(TM).

The Company has undertaken this re-branding of the product to ensure that there is no confusion in the marketplace regarding its software application and applications available from other companies that may be similar to the initial product name 'WheresMyKid', as previously announced. Mobile Data Corp. has taken this step in an effort to provide complete name differentiation and enhance the MDC brand. Additionally, the Company wants to ensure that it does not impinge on existing products that may be registered or trademarked, in whole or in part, that currently use the word 'Wheresmy kid' in any form.

MDC-KidTracker(TM) gives parents the ability know the location of their child's BlackBerry SmartPhone at any given time, and by extension, the location of that child. Pre-teens and teenagers are being provided with mobile telephones at an unprecedented rate; according to Nielsen Co., 74% of U.S. teens now carry cell phones and 1 in 3 children aged 8 to 12. The widespread use of technology by this demographic has both positive and negative implications. Most troubling is the growing incidences of cyberstalking of children by sexual predators through their cell phones as opposed to home based computers, where parents have more control.

Mobile Data Corp has developed a series of Critical Information Data Points in the MDC-KidTracker(TM) application that is based on its premier product, the MDC-Tracker. For example, at any given time a parent can check on the exact location of a child's phone through the MDC server interface that provides street addresses based on Global Positioning coordinates. They will also know the length of time the phone (and by extension, the child, presumably) has been at a certain location. When the phone moves to another location, an email alert or text message can be sent to a parent to let them know that the phone is moving. Such information is helpful to a parent in determining whether or not such an event is routine and acceptable, or more importantly, an event that is regarded as suspicious and potentially dangerous. A further example would be if the phone begins traveling at a speed that indicates the child is in a vehicle and the direction they are traveling. Such information could ultimately have a profound impact on the safety of that child. These are just a few examples of MDC-KidTracker(TM) software's extensive functionality. Complete specifications and attributes of the product will be announced at release.
