("Sino-Global" or the "Company"), a leading, non-state-owned provider of shipping agency services operating primarily in China, today announced that it will hold its 2011 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (the "Meeting") on January 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time. The Meeting will be held at the Omni Richmond Hotel, 100 South 12th St., Richmond, Virginia 23219. A proxy statement and copy of the Company's annual report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010 have been distributed to Sino-Global shareholders of record as of December 9, 2010 and filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Matters to be voted upon at the Meeting include:
1. The election of one Class I member of the Board of Directors, to serve a term expiring at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders in 2014 or until his successor is duly elected and qualified; 2. The ratification of the appointment of Friedman LLP as the Company's independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011; and 3. The transaction of any other business properly coming before the meeting.
The foregoing items of business are more fully described in the proxy statement. At the Meeting, Sino-Global management will also report on the Company's performance and operations during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010 and respond to shareholder questions. Shareholders of record at the close of business on December 9, 2010 are entitled to notice of and to vote at the Meeting and any adjournment thereof.
