IPC The Hospitalist Company Acquires Missouri and Kansas Practice / Establishes New Market in Kansas City Metro Area

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 28, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IPC The Hospitalist Company, Inc. , the leading national hospitalist group practice company, announced today that it has acquired Midwest Hospital Specialists PA, Midwest Hospital Care LLC, and Peterson Management Co. (PMC), collectively known as Hospital Inpatient Management Services (HIMS). Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, the acquisition of HIMS represents a new practice region for IPC. HIMS has an annualized volume of approximately 140,000 patient encounters.
