Panasonic Builds On Success of Blu-ray and DVD Players With High-Performing & Stylish Options / New Portable Devices Add HDMI Output and Feature Increased Battery Life

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Panasonic, a major developer and contributor to the success of the portable Blu-ray and DVD formats, introduced their top-of-the-line portable Blu-ray Disc(TM) players and DVD players at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show. Continuing Panasonic's tradition of presenting innovative entertainment products, the DMP-B200 and DVD-LS92 are designed to provide the ultimate high definition experience for those traveling, as well as serve as an additional Blu-ray Disc or DVD player for use with any TV.

With the DMP-B200, users can easily enjoy the HD content of Blu-ray video and AVCHD while traveling, or as a regular Blu-ray Disc player when connected to any TV. With its 1080p Up-conversion, this player renders superb images with smooth, crisp motion, for outstanding image quality. The DMP-B200 features a newly-added HDMI output which allows for deep colors and rich blacks on the go, as well as a new stylish 8.9-inch High Resolution WSVGA screen for optimal movie viewing. The DMP-B200 is easy to use and has four hours of playback, with the option for a new longer lasting battery for up to eight hours of viewing. With Panasonic's proprietary VIERA Link(TM) users can control multiple Audio/Video components that are VIERA Link compatible with the touch of a VIERA TV remote controller. Additionally, the DMP-B200 comes with an SD Memory card slot that allows the user to play back digital still JPEG images and High Definition video (AVCHD), as well as a car DC adaptor. The DMP-B200 conforms to Panasonic's "Eco-Ideas" model to create environmentally-friendly products, with its new compact body, and lower power consumption, cutting down on both the amount of materials used and energy emitted.

"As a worldwide leader in consumer electronics, Panasonic has further established their state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest quality portable Blu-ray and DVD players," said Richard Simone, Vice President, Merchandising, Imaging, and Entertainment Products, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "This year's portable players provide consumers with easy access to their favorite movies and personal photos while on the go, yet not compromising on quality and features. Additionally, with the increased quantity of Blu-ray releases, the DMP-B200 is a great way to watch HD content on the road, in the living room or in a remote location."

Users can also enjoy their favorites DVDs on the go, with the DVD-LS92 portable DVD player, featuring a 9-inch WQVGA LCD Screen, high quality picture, and Dolby® Digital sound. This portable DVD player features 11 hours of playback time, giving it the second longest battery life on the market, just behind the Panasonic DVD-LS86.

Both the DMP-B200 and DVD-LS92 will be available this spring. About Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company
