Former MicroStrategy Executive Vice President Brings Extensive Analytics Expertise To Accelerate ParAccel's Growth
ParAccel, Inc., provider of the world's fastest and most powerful analytic database, today announced the appointment of Paul Zolfaghari as chief operating officer. Mr. Zolfaghari has been an executive for more than a decade in the business intelligence and data analytics industry, and as COO at ParAccel he will oversee global revenue, marketing, and business development. He will report to Chuck Berger, chairman and CEO, who joined the company in August 2010.
"After more than a decade in this space, it is clear to me that the rate of data accumulation is relentless and accelerating. Successful organizations understand that timely and sophisticated analysis of that data will lead to increased profits and significant competitive advantage," said Paul Zolfaghari, COO at ParAccel. "The best business intelligence and analytic tools are often hampered by the ability of the underlying database to access and analyze large amounts of data in nearly real time. Because ParAccel is unmatched in its ability to solve this problem, I am excited to join the leadership team that will drive its adoption in the marketplace."
Prior to joining ParAccel, Zolfaghari worked for more than eleven years at MicroStrategy, Inc., a leading business intelligence software company where he most recently served as executive vice president, worldwide sales and operations. In that role for nearly five years, he reported to the CEO and was responsible for MicroStrategy's worldwide field operations and annual revenue of more than $400 million. Prior to his role as EVP of worldwide sales and operations, he served in a series of executive management roles at MicroStrategy, including vice president, worldwide business affairs, and vice president and chief of staff. Zolfaghari received a Bachelor's of Arts in English from Gettysburg College in 1986 and received his J.D. with Honors from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991.
"It is noteworthy that an executive of Paul's caliber has chosen to join ParAccel," said Chuck Berger, CEO at ParAccel. "Paul brings significant experience at developing and driving successful strategies that accelerate growth, market share and awareness. His extensive customer and partner relationships across the business intelligence and analytics market and his focus on operational excellence are unprecedented and will contribute to taking ParAccel to the next level and beyond."
The strength of the ParAccel Database has already led to record revenues and bookings in 2010, as well as the addition of many new customers in the financial services, retail, and government markets.
Zolfaghari will be taking on his new role as COO at ParAccel on January 15, 2011.
