Daniel Amparan Promoted to Managing Director of Pyramid Research / In addition, Light Reading promotes Todd Marquez to Group Director, Cable and Mobile

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pyramid Research announced today the promotion of Daniel Amparan, a veteran telecom research and service-provider business-development executive, to Managing Director of the leading telecom market analysis and consulting company focused on emerging markets around the world. Pyramid Research, along with Heavy Reading, comprise the research arm of the Light Reading Communications Network.

Formerly Vice President of Business Development for Pyramid Research, Daniel will now be responsible for managing Pyramid to better leverage its expertise in advising global organizations in the communications, media and technology industries on growth and emerging-market and service opportunities. Prior to joining Pyramid, Daniel played a leading role in the international expansion of Telmex where he worked in its International and Corporate Development Divisions. Daniel also has years of management consulting and global investment banking experience, having worked for McKinsey and Co. in Mexico City and Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt, Germany.

Light Reading also announced that Todd Marquez has been promoted to Group Director of Cable and Mobile, and will be responsible for driving Light Reading's industry, association, and carrier relationships into the cable and mobile spaces. Previously Marquez was Publisher/Cable and before Light Reading was publisher of CED Magazine.
