Environmental Tectonics Corporation's Simulation Division to Display Latest Emergency and Security Training Simulations at IDEX in Abu Dhabi

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (BULLETIN BOARD: ETCC) ("ETC" or the "Company") Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, is pleased to announce that they will be exhibiting their Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS) at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi. ETC Simulation is an innovative company specializing in virtual reality emergency and disaster management training systems. ADMS is a proven tool for training emergency management personnel at all levels, and has provided hundreds of thousands of training hours in eleven countries.

From February 20-24, 2011, ETC will be showcasing their newest ADMS simulation scenarios. These scenarios were developed to offer true-to-life emergency and disaster management training specifically to the defense and security sector.

This show will offer emergency management and defense personnel the chance to view the simulations up close and witness the true-to-life, high fidelity visuals associated with ADMS. IDEX attendees will also be able to evaluate the features which make ADMS unique in the market, including true artificial intelligence, and open-ended scenarios which require dynamic decision making to affect the outcome of the incident.

This year at IDEX, ETC plans to showcase their newest emergency management training scenarios, including:

-- A collapsed building, which offers search and rescue capability, either through visual, audio device or K9 assistance. -- A train incident, either passenger or cargo, which has the flexibility of presenting hazardous material consequences. -- A high-rise fire, with interior and exterior operability and evacuation functionality.

"Recent contracts to supply ADMS to high level Emergency and National Security Organizations, including the United States Department of Defense, Goodfellow Air Force Base, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia, validates ADMS lead in the global emergency management training marketplace," stated Marco van Wijngaarden, President of ETC Simulation. "In today's world, effective training for incidents of all scopes, ranging from fuel farm fires to terrorist attacks, is crucial to security on both a national and local level. ADMS has branded itself as the most innovative simulation training platform available today to prepare for these, and many other possible events."

The ADMS virtual reality team training system provides emergency responders, from tactical to strategic levels, a highly efficient and cost effective solution to their training needs. Due to the high-end simulation of incidents, personnel and resources, trainees are immersed within the training exercise while in a controlled and safe environment. ADMS combines physics based simulation, embedded artificial intelligence, photorealistic visualizations, and ambient sounds into a very realistic and interactive training environment. First introduced in 1994, ADMS has trained emergency responders worldwide, on local, regional and national levels.
