Universal Food Co. is on a growth spurt. The Golden Island brand of jerky products manufacturer has added five road shows to Texas Costco locations and is set to expand into additional stores in the Northeast by March.
"We have had such a tremendous response to our jerky," said Anna Kan, Universal Food Co. president. "We have had five shows in Texas and will be adding five more to serve our customers."
Response to UFC's gourmet jerky has been tremendous and has fueled national growth for the Rancho Cucamonga-based manufacturer. In the last year, UFC grew its distribution presence nationally, added jobs and expanded its footprint at its headquarters.
"We're also planning on road shows in the Northeast states at selected Costco locations in March," Kan added. "At the road shows, UFC representatives hand out samples of our jerky and educate people about our whole meat, low sodium products."
UFC is also adding three more jerky carts at Central Markets locations in Texas. Those carts feature a variety of Golden Island jerky, including Barbeque Pork, Chili Lime, Mandarin Orange & Pineapple, Kung Pao and Flank Steak.
"The tremendous flurry of activity at Universal Food Co. is a reflection of the 200 percent sales growth the company experienced last year," said Kan. "The popularity and demand for our Golden Island jerky has been the key to our success."
