Doctors Without Borders to be a Beneficiary of TravelRelief.org, Expedia Affiliate Network's Charity Program

BELLEVUE, Wash., March 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Expedia(R) Affiliate Network (EAN) announced today that Doctors Without Borders / Medecins San Frontieres (MSF) will be the newest beneficiary of TravelRelief.org, EAN's charity program. Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance to people in more than 60 countries worldwide that have been affected by disasters, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from healthcare, and armed conflict.

Expedia, Inc. selected Doctors Without Borders as a primary recipient of charitable financial support in late 2010, and now EAN is providing an additional opportunity for Doctors Without Borders to receive additional financial support when consumers book their travel on TravelRelief.org.

Doctors Without Borders supporters can help the organization raise money by simply booking their stay at any of the more than 71,500 participating hotels worldwide on the TravelRelief.org site. A percentage of the traveler's hotel booking price will then be contributed to Doctors Without Borders when the traveler selects the organization as a beneficiary at the time of check out.

"We're very pleased that EAN is able to contribute additional support for Doctors Without Borders through TravelRelief.org," said Benoit Jolin, Vice President, Product and Marketing for EAN. "TravelRelief.org offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to easily help their favorite causes, such as Doctors Without Borders, simply by booking their hotel reservations on our site. This is a great opportunity for EAN to support Expedia Inc.'s philanthropic goals and Doctors Without Borders' work, which includes providing medical care for malnourished children in the Sahel region of Africa and victims of the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo."

The TravelRelief program is co-branded with Hotels.com(R) and powered by the Expedia Affiliate Network. Charities can join the program by signing up at http://travelrelief.org/join-travelrelief/.

Favoritenwechsel
