Mummies of the World Welcomes Milestone 300,000th Visitor / Groundbreaking exhibition opens its doors to 300,000th visitor just nine months after world premiere

MILWAUKEE, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mummies of the World, the largest exhibition of mummies ever assembled welcomed its 300,000th visitor yesterday - just nine months after its July 1, 2010 world premiere in Los Angeles. Currently on display at the Milwaukee Public Museum, this groundbreaking exhibition is quickly becoming one of the most popular attractions in the country, drawing visitors from nearly all 50 states to Milwaukee and helping the Museum achieve a one-day record attendance in December 2010, with nearly 11,000 visitors.

Kim Schubert of Hartland was the 300,000th visitor to the exhibition, receiving a special 300,000th visitor package, including a Mummies of the World souvenir book; a Mummies of the World DVD; and an annual Milwaukee Public Museum Pathfinder membership.

Mummies of the World presents a never-before-seen collection of 150 artifacts and real human and animal specimens from South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Egypt. The exhibition premiered to sell out crowds in Los Angeles at the California Science Center in July 2010. It quickly became a major attraction and one of the most successful exhibits in the Science Center's 13-year history. The popular traveling exhibition of real mummies will make its Philadelphia debut at The Franklin Institute on June 18, 2011.

Mummies of the World is a ticketed event and requires a timed entry. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Tickets are available online at www.mpm.edu or by calling (414) 223-4676.
