American Airlines Assists Customers Affected by Japan Earthquake - Customer Refunds Now Available to Original Form of Payment / American and its Customers Also Helping the American Red Cross Raise Funds for Relief Efforts in Japan

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the earthquake that has affected Japan, American Airlines continues to offer customers the convenience to change their travel plans as listed below. In addition, American said today that, as an added convenience, customers eligible for refunds may now receive their refund to their original form of payment.

AAdvantage(R) members can help by donating to the Red Cross to provide shelter, food and other assistance to earthquake and tsunami victims.

AAdvantage members can receive a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage bonus miles for a minimum donation of $50, or 500 AAdvantage bonus miles for a donation of $100 or more to the American Red Cross Japan and Pacific Tsunami Fund.
