ARCADIS Announces Appointment of Thomas Hessling, Vice President and National Market Leader for Alternative Project Delivery

DENVER, March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCADIS , the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, today announced Thomas Hessling, PE, has joined as Vice President and National Leader for Infrastructure Alternative Project Delivery (APD). In this role, Hessling will be responsible for developing APD opportunities and providing executive oversight and management for related projects.

With more than 25 years of engineering and construction management experience in the Midwest and on the East Coast, Hessling has served in a variety of project management roles. His past positions include design engineer, resident engineer, office engineer, chief inspector, construction inspector and project manager. Prior to joining ARCADIS, Hessling lead the charge for AECOM's future preferred delivery model and the company's Alternative Delivery Group in the Northeast and Midwest regions.

With broad experience including buildings, highway and bridge design, and construction and inspection, Hessling has worked on a variety of complex, high-visibility projects. His career highlights include project management of Milwaukee's $810 million Marquette Interchange, project direction for Minnesota's Trunk Highway 212 - a $250 million unique design-build project, oversight of New York State's Interchange 8 and I-287/1-87 reconstruction as resident engineer, and project management for the $150 million Tappan Zee Bridge rehabilitation project north of New York City. His experience also includes Connecticut's $550 million I-95/91 Interchange project leading into the state's Q Bridge.

A licensed professional engineer in several states, Hessling has been recognized for his achievements by the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. Hessling has lectured on various topics at the Mississippi Valley Conference, Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference and local chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
