WAUKESHA, Wis., March 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Markel American Insurance Company announced today their sponsorship of the Build Milwaukee Moto Mentor program for the 2011 contest.
The Moto Mentor program is a new initiative by the Iron Horse Hotel that offers high school students an opportunity to learn motorcycle restoration while developing important business, trade and interpersonal skills. The program is made up of teams from various high schools in the Milwaukee area. Each team is given a budget of $2,000 to restore and customize a classic motorcycle. The finished motorcycles are then displayed at various events throughout the Milwaukee and Chicago metro areas.
In addition to being the logo sponsor, a Markel Associate will also be mentoring one of the teams. Mark Hoedel, Claims Examiner for Markel American, is one of the team mentors at his former high school, Bradley Tech.
