Information Management Releases "40 Vendors We're Watching in 2011" List

NEW YORK, March 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Information Management, a SourceMedia brand, has released its "40 Vendors We're Watching in 2011." The list shines a spotlight on the most compelling software and service providers that are driving innovation, growth and efficiency in the way enterprises manage data and information.

The 40 vendors were chosen by the magazine's editors from among hundreds of prospects. The editors' decisions were based on close reporting and analysis of market activity, including corporate IT buying patterns, new product releases, and technology trends. Among other things, in assembling the list, the editors drew upon an extensive series of interviews with leading IT professionals and analysts. Information Management reaches more than 200,000 information technology and data professionals each month through its magazine, website, and online events.

This year's "40 Vendors We're Watching" offers a unique window on a fast-changing industry. "Agility is one of the main differentiators in our list this year," says Information Management Editor-in-Chief Julie Langenkamp. "Providers that offer rapid deployment of easy-to-use tools suited to a broad audience are very much in demand."

Compared to last year, more companies on the list offer hosted and cloud-based software or services as an alternative to traditional packaged releases. Many are working with networked service platforms, such as Salesforce.com.

While IT infrastructure software and service providers had a strong showing, a large number of vendors on the 2011 list -- including Corda, Dundas, Lyzasoft, Qliktech, and Tableau Software -- offer visualization and analysis tools, which are useful in collaboration, sales or customer service.

Other vendors on the list offer business intelligence products and services, (Birst and WhereScape); project management (Daptiv); and budgeting and forecasting (Adaptive Planning). Several companies offering databases also made this year's list, including Aster Data, Kognitio, and ParAccel. Eleven vendors are repeats from last year.

The "40 Vendors We're Watching in 2011" list and accompanying article appear in Information Management's March-April print issue. Additional details on the list are available on the publication's website, www.information-management.com. Click here for the full list of companies.
