An innovative telematic support model to support diabetes treatment has been developed and launched thanks to the long-term partnership between Acotel Group (Parent company of Noverca) and Fatebenefratelli Hospital. Davide Carnevale, Marketing & Sales Director at Noverca Italia, made the announcement during an Italy Expo Comm Italia 2011 press conference.
The telematic support product ensures a constant monitoring solution which enables patients to access their own health activity data on multiple channels including SMS, web, and Smartphone applications, and allows them to share the data with others, including doctors and family, resulting in heightened awareness and overall superior care.

At the heart of the Noverca system is the patent pending MiniMAU (Management Automation Unit) with embedded SIM Noverca 2.0. The MiniMAU operates as a patient data access point to the GSM network and interfaces, via either IrDA, Bluetooth, or USB, with medical devices used by patients (e.g. glucometers) while communicating with the central platform.
The platform processes data relating to medical indicators of the patient and provides a full range of analyses useful for diagnostic and management purposes. If requested, the platform will automatically send alerts via SMS and/or email, thereby permitting healthcare professionals to intervene and modify treatment in real time.
