Fourth Annual Barry Spiegelman Memorial Golf Classic and Reception & Fundraiser, Hosted by The Beryl Companies, Set Fundraising Record to Support Brain Cancer Research

DALLAS, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beryl Companies announced today that it raised more than $50,000 at the 4th Annual Barry Spiegelman Memorial Golf Classic and Reception & Fundraiser to support brain cancer research. Net proceeds from the events will go to Art of the Brain, which supports brain cancer research at UCLA's Neuro-Oncology program. The annual events are held in memory of Beryl co-founder Barry Spiegelman, who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2005.

"Each year, the tournament and fundraiser brings greater awareness of brain cancer research to the Dallas/Fort Worth area," said Paul Spiegelman, founder and CEO of The Beryl Companies. "The surrounding communities gave generously through participation, donations and sponsorships." Spiegelman continued, "This event is a celebration of my brother's life and supports those who fight brain cancer and the hope they have because of important research conducted to find a cure."

The Golf Classic was held April 12, 2011 at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller, Tex. The Reception & Fundraiser event was held immediately following the tournament at the Hilton Southlake Hotel in Southlake, Tex.
