Beating Cardiovascular Disease: Continuing Medical Education Course (CME) in Phoenix, Arizona

RICHMOND, Va., April 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop, "Beating Cardiovascular Disease: Understanding the meaning and value of key risk factors, will be hosted in Phoenix, Arizona on May 14, 2011 by Dr. Sam Fillingane.

"Beating Cardiovascular Disease, a free course with Continuing Medical Education credits, is designed to help doctors eradicate this disease in their practice based upon new and future developments in advanced testing," said Dr. Sam Fillingane.

Beating Cardiovascular Disease:

Understanding the meaning and value of key risk factors

CME training hosted at the Moon Valley Country Club, 151 West Moon Valley Drive

Phoenix, Arizona 85023

May 14, 2011

9am to 1pm

Call Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. (HDL, Inc.) RSVP: 1-877-443-5227

This interactive, four-hour session is a free Continuing Medical Education course with four CME credits available by AAFP. Specific clinical cases will be profiled that will demonstrate evaluation and treatment regimens of specific types of cardiovascular patients commonly seen in primary care practices. Ischemic heart disease, strokes, and cardiomyopathypatients will be discussed, along with how each case progressed with the help of advanced cardiovascular data assistance. Clinicians will discuss as a group how they would treat example cases, with emphasis on biomarker identification and resulting clinical implications.

The learning objectives for the lecture series include:

  1. Each participant will learn the meaning and value of key risk factors directly related to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease
  2. Each clinician will be taught clinical strategies that will help make use of cardiovascular marker information
  3. Practical clinical pearls will be discussed to improve cardiovascular outcomes of patients at risk
  4. Clinicians will be shown methods of evaluation to minimize the possibility of patients "slipping through the cracks"
  5. Each clinician will leave better aware of cardiovascular diagnostic tools that are available

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of people in the United States, killing more people than the next four causes of death combined. Beating Cardiovascular Disease: Understanding the meaning and value of key risk factors is an ongoing series of workshops designed to change this statistic. In addition to the CME course in Phoenix on May 14, 2011, the training for family practitioners and other medical leaders will be offered in West Palm Beach, Houston, Dallas, Charlotte, Idaho Falls, Atlanta, Baltimore, and Richmond throughout the summer of 2011.
