$15,000 Needed by Monday to Save The Sanctuary
LAS VEGAS, April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Adopt A Rescue Pet (ARP) is one of Nevada's largest animal rescue organizations sterilizing and re-homing pets for overten years. By Monday, May 2nd the organization must raise $15,000 to meet the sanctuary $70,000 balloon payment. In the past 35 days the nation of animal lovers has raised $55,000 towards the payment, but the group is just shy of the remaining $15,000 to save thefive-acre dog sanctuary in Amargosa Valley, Nevada.
"We are so appreciative for the donations that have poured in via our website and our community events. We have 300 pets in our programs that are dependent on the sanctuary being saved, not to mention the 1,300 dogs who are helped annually via our programs. Many are retirees or hard to place animals because of their breed mix. Finding space at other facilities to keep these animals alive will be hard to impossible,"remarks Elizabeth Rubin, Founder of ARP.
To help secure the remaining $15,000 necessary to keep the doors of ARP open, local Las Vegas entertainer Tommy Rocker is helping Adopt A Rescue Pet by holding a no cover charge fundraising event at his Tommy Rocker Mojave Beach bar & grill Thursday, April 28 from 6 - 8 pm. The Sanctuary is for the community, Adopt A Rescue Pet is the alternative to a municipal shelter where many people are now forced to turn in homeless pets with no guarantee of safety.

Adopt A Rescue Pet, founded in 2000, is a nonprofit animal welfare organization headquartered in southern Nevada. ARP has rescued and placed over 13,000 animals into new homes.
