BOCA RATON, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 04/28/11 --MedeFile International, Inc. (OTCQB: MDFI) (PINKSHEETS: MDFI), a leader in Internet-enabled Personal Health Record (iPHR) management solutions, today announced that it has recently enrolled several new physician practice groups into its Quality of Care Program. This unique initiative provides for MedeFile to partner on a revenue-share basis with established medical practitioners, physician groups and hospitals to educate patients on the benefits and advantages of adopting the MedeFile system as their personal health record management solution.
The latest providers to join the Quality of Care Program include Dr. Frank Alario, who for the past 23 years has owned and operated a successful multi-specialty practice with offices in New York City, New Jersey and South Florida. MedeFile is also pleased to welcome to the Program Ocean County Family Care, a primary care practice with five offices in New Jersey; A-Z Medical Associates which practices family care and internal medicine in Monmouth County, New Jersey; Alpha Medical, an internal medicine practice serving patients in and around Toms River, New Jersey; and Dr. Amador N. Hormilla, who has been practicing internal medicine for 30 years in New Jersey. These five well-respected medical practices and physician groups serve a collective patient base of nearly 55,000 lives.
Dr. Michael Rothberg, owner of Ocean County Family Care, stated, "Our practice has the privilege of administering more than 25,000 patient visits each year. As such, we have become strong proponents of the digitization of health and medical records, which we believe offer valuable, tangible benefits and efficiencies to both our patients and our practice. By encouraging our patients to become active participants in their own health management through use of MedeFile's iPHR, we are confident that we can work together to materially enhance their preventative care, medical treatment and clinical outcomes. With MedeFile, we see particularly important benefits afforded to those of our patients who own winter homes down South and frequently travel between residences during the year. By ensuring they have 24/7 access to all of their health information and actual medical records anytime, anywhere through MedeFile, we -- as their care providers -- can be assured that if they are outside of our reach, their care will not be compromised in the event of an illness or medical emergency."
"MedeFile is very pleased with the strong traction we are achieving with our Quality of Care Program. Like Dr. Rothberg, medical professionals nationwide are recognizing that MedeFile can indeed have positive impact on the patient/physician experience, while promoting notable cost and time efficiencies through the reduction or elimination of duplicate testing and unnecessary doctor visits," noted Kevin Hauser, Chairman, President and CEO of MedeFile. "Moreover, through this initiative, we are able to introduce an entirely new, recurring revenue stream to practice owners, whose businesses are otherwise being squeezed by tougher reimbursement issues and other economic challenges. Consequently, we are confident that our Quality of Care program can prove to be a significant 'win-win-win' for the patient, for the provider and for MedeFile."
The secure, web-based MedeFile solution is currently interoperable with most electronic medical record (EMR) management systems marketed to the professional healthcare industry. In addition, MedeFile believes that its iPHR platform can serve as a highly effective patient portal and practice integration tool that addresses the need for practitioners to meet new "meaningful use" standards required for qualifying for federal incentive payments pursuant to the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).
Medical professionals and practice administrators who would like more information on MedeFile's Quality of Care Program should contact Roger Mouallem at 561-912-3393, extension 107.
