VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/06/11 -- Western Pacific Trust Company (TSX VENTURE: WP) ("the Company") is pleased to announce that at the May 6, 2011, Annual General Meeting of the Company, Suzanne Mercier was elected to the Board of Directors. Ms. Mercier replaces Alison Alfer, who did not stand for reelection to provide for the election of an independent director. The Board thanks Ms. Alfer for her service as a director of the Company over the last four years.
Ms. Mercier is a lawyer with several years experience with top tier law firms in London, England, and San Francisco, California, most recently as senior counsel with the Wells Fargo Bank. Ms. Mercier is now located in Vancouver, British Columbia, where, as the owner of Mercier Law Corporation, she provides clients with legal and business advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions and discrete legal issues.
With the appointment of Ms. Mercier, the Board of Directors of the Company is comprised of:

In addition, the Company announces the resignation, for personal family reasons, of Ms. Helen Wong as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Michael Sanker, CGA, has been appointed CFO effective May 2, 2011. Mr. Sanker is an accomplished financial professional with a background in a variety of public, private and non-profit organizations as well as public practice.
