Sidley Austin LLP* is pleased to announce that Dorothee Fischer-Appelt has joined the firm as a partner in the securities practice. Ms. Fischer-Appelt will be resident in Sidley's London office and focuses her practice on international equity and debt capital markets transactions.
Ms. Fischer-Appelt has extensive experience in a wide range of corporate and finance transactions, representing both issuers and underwriters in SEC-registered and Rule 144A debt and equity securities offerings, including initial public offerings, rights offerings, convertible offerings, block trades, global bond offerings and liability management transactions. She has also advised listed companies on reporting obligations under the securities laws, corporate governance rules and stock exchange listing requirements. In addition, she has experience advising on joint ventures and cross-border M&A transactions, purchases of loan portfolios and modifications of financing arrangements.

A U.S. and English qualified lawyer, Ms. Fischer-Appelt is a frequent author and speaker on international capital markets topics, including recent developments in U.S. securities laws applicable to foreign issuers and EU financial services legislation such as the Prospectus and Transparency Directives. She has served as Co-Chair of the ABA Section of International Law's International Securities and Capital Markets Committee since August 2010. She speaks German, French and Italian.
