NEW YORK, May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Helping to raise awareness about our local New York City environmental organizations, Sprout Watches will host a beach themed day on Sunday, May 15th from 12 pm to 5 pm at the 423 West Broadway pop up shop to benefit the New York City Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.

Profits generated from watch sales on Beach Day will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation whose mission is "the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network." Surfrider Foundation members will be at the Sprout Pop-Up Shop from 12 pm to 5 pm and will be recruiting volunteers to help Sprout Watches clean up and celebrate International Surfing Day on June 18 at Rockaway Beach. Skudin Surf, run by Cliff and Will Skudin, will also be at the shop to convince everyone to get on a surfboard and give surfing lessons a shot. For the freebie seekers, the surfing duo has donated a day in surf camp for two. Visitors can enter to win this and a gift basket filled with summertime goodies courtesy of Sprout Watches. To wash it all down, complimentary ZICO coconut water will be available at the shop. A healthy and refreshing beverage paired with a fun-filled surf shop atmosphere will bring summer fun right to SoHo.
