EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/13/11 -- Media are invited to attend the sixth Homeless Connect Edmonton. Homeless Connect Edmonton is a broad-based community-inspired initiative, providing free appropriate services to homeless people and those at risk of becoming homeless, on one day and at one location. 80 services will be available free of charge to guests.
Date: Sunday, May 15, 2011
Time: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Location: Halls A, B & C, Shaw Conference Centre (address?)
Edmonton Transit Services will offer free rides to guests and volunteers, to and from the event. Guests have access to services such as haircuts, dentistry, eye-care, counseling, pre-natal support, laundry, employment services and housing information. Every guest receives a care package which includes personal care products.

Homeless Connect Edmonton is organized by volunteer committees that provide direction and support for the event. Homeward Trust Edmonton, a not-for-profit organization providing leadership and resources towards ending homelessness, coordinates the overall work plan and ensures the event aligns with related Edmonton initiatives.
