Mobile Data Corp Launches Revised and Upgraded Version of the MDC-KidTracker BlackBerry SmartPhone Application.

SAN JOSE, CA, May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - MDC (Mobile Data Corp) announces the release of a newly revised and upgraded version of its MDC-KidTracker™ software application. This latest Version: 2.0.7 provides better functionality and ease of use in generating tracking reports and receiving Alert Notifications.

This upgrade is more robust and consistent in its GPS data provision, tracking and notification capabilities than previous releases and is part of MDC's application technology strategy. 2.0.7 tracks where a BlackBerry® Smartphone has been over a specific time period and gives the user immediate access to this information through the Member Section of the MDC website (www.mobiledatacorp.com).

Specifically Version: 2.0.7 has increased accuracy in GPS generated distance and speed calculations, in order to ensure the data provided by the device is as specific as possible. The application is also equipped with an auto restart function should a GPS signal be lost due various environmental considerations, such as inclement weather or continuous entering and exiting of concrete buildings. A signal may also be lost should the device travel to remote areas where there is no accessible cellular service and global positioning satellites are not in range; in this event the last reported position indicates when and at what time the device exited the service area. With auto restart, the device will begin functioning again once is re-enters a service area.

Safety Issues

The MDC-KidTracker™ was envisioned and developed initially as an application to provide parents with a greater sense of security concerning the daily movement and whereabouts of their children. The ability to know where a child is at any given time is invaluable information should that child go missing or travels to a place they should not be. Parents can then take the appropriate steps to contact the child and rectify any potential concern.

In the unlikely case of an abduction, the data points provided by the device that is with the child can have a substantial impact in efforts by law enforcement to find the child. Even if the device has been discarded in such an instance, the path of reported locations and the last known signal could be critical in the successful recovery of the child unharmed.

Corporate Issues

MDC has received inquiries from the corporate sector regarding the application and its potential use in tracking physical corporate assets, including employees. Companies are primarily concerned with their workers' safety, however, the application can also provide information that can be evaluated for employee productivity and planning purposes.

The MDC-KidTracker™ is available through the Mobile Data Corp. website, www.mobiledatacorp.com, at a cost of $4.99 per month. Currently visitors to the Mobile Data Corp. website and the BlackBerry® App World web site http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/34452?lang=en who register for the product can download and receive the MDC-KidTracker™ application for a 30 day free evaluation period.
