HOUSTON, May 29 (Reuters) - New independent U.S. refiner PBF Energy began and then stopped the restart of a unit at its 182,000 barrel per day (bpd) Delaware City, Delaware, refinery on Friday, according to a notice filed with federal pollution regulators.
The refinery started and stopped the restart of the unidentified unit, according to the notice filed with the U.S. National Response Center.
The Delaware City refinery had been shuttered by previous owner Valero Energy Corp in November 2009 because it was losing $1 million per day. PBF purchased the refinery last year and undertook an overhaul, announcing plans to restart in the second quarter of this year.
