DETROIT, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 6, 2011, David W. Christensen, of Detroit's Charfoos & Christensen P.C. filed a lawsuit against Freddie Young for his actions in causing the death of Gregory McNicol on May 7, 2011.
Greg McNicol, the owner and landlord, had come to Detroit to work on the apartment building, located in Detroit on Beniteau St. He confronted Freddie Young's daughter about her living in the apartment without paying rent, as well as loud parties, frequent guests, and damage to the apartment for which other tenants had complained. She summoned her father, Freddie Young, who arrived at the apartment and shot Greg McNicol, killing him.
The complaint, filed on behalf of the widow, Katie Scartezini, contains these allegations, alleging assault and battery and wrongful death, and requests that all damages resulting from her husband's death be compensated by Freddie Young. The complaint also seeks injunctive relief to prevent Freddie Young, a recent lottery winner, from transferring, dissipating or otherwise squandering his current assets, pending a resolution of the lawsuit.
