Sixteen handguns stolen from gun store
PHILADELPHIA, June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced today a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the theft of 16 handguns from West Shore Gun Shop, a federal firearm licensee, in Marysville, Pennsylvania.
The theft occurred on April 22, 2011 at approximately 3:40 a.m. West Shore Gun Shop is located at 222 Verbeke Street in Marysville, Pa. The investigation is being conducted by ATF and the Pennsylvania State Police. Investigators seek community assistance that may aid them in solving the burglary.
"Gun thieves are a primary source of the firearms for those engaged in criminal activity," said Mark Potter, ATF Special Agent in Charge, Philadelphia Field Division. "Criminals who possess not only a stolen firearm, but any firearm, are a threat to public safety. ATF is dedicated to ensuring our neighborhoods are safe places to live and work. We are asking the public to provide any information that would lead investigators to arrest those responsible for stealing the firearms."
