Opera Solutions Announces Hiring of Scott Louis Weber as Co-Director of Government Practice

JERSEY CITY, N.J., July 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Opera Solutions, LLC, a global firm that applies advanced analytics to solve the Big Data challenges of many of the world's leading organizations, today announced the hiring of Scott Weber as Co-Director of the company's Government solutions areas. In his new role, Mr. Weber will focus on bringing to the public sector Opera's extensive capabilities and solutions built on the company's Big Data management and cutting-edge predictive analytics.

Mr. Weber comes to Opera Solutions with over two decades of legal and government experience at the highest level. Prior to joining Opera Solutions, Weber served as a partner at two leading international law firms. Weber was also a Senior Counselor to Secretary Michael Chertoff at the U. S. Department of Homeland Security and is a Senior Advisor to the Homeland Security and Defense Business Council. Additionally, Weber served as a Special Counsel to the New Jersey Office of the Child Advocate and the New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee, and was a member of former New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine's Advisory Committee on Police Standards.

Mr. Weber frequently appears on television as an expert on national security issues including "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on Fox News, CNBC's "Kudlow & Company," and CNN and BBC Television. He has also written for Forbes.com and Security Debrief.

"I'm excited to play a role in bringing Opera's formidable arsenal of sophisticated analytics tools to the government," said Weber. "Without question, Opera can support the national security mission by helping the government find important signals buried deep within the ever-growing universe of data. Opera's analytics can aid government entities on multiple fronts, from detecting and preventing terrorism, to reducing wasteful spending."

"The extensive experience and knowledge that Scott brings to the table made him the perfect choice to help lead our Government effort," said Arnab Gupta, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Opera Solutions. "The combination of Opera's analytics capabilities and Scott's acumen will ensure that we provide powerful solutions for local, state, and federal government entities."

While focusing the majority of his time with Opera, Mr. Weber will also continue to serve as a partner at the law firm of Patton Boggs, LLP, and on the Board of Advisors at The Chertoff Group, LLC. He graduated from Rutgers College in 1990 with a B.A. in Political Science and English. In 1993, he earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School.
