Cumulus Media Inc. (NASDAQ: CMLS) has announced the appointment of veteran broadcaster Mike Kenney as its Market Manager for their Cincinnati cluster (WGRR-FM, WRRM-FM, WOFX-FM, WFTK-FM, WNNF-FM). This marks a return to the Queen City for Kenney, who had been Market Manager for Jacor/Clear Channel in Cincinnati from 1994 through 2006.
A Cincinnati native, Kenney's extensive broadcasting career began there as a leading seller in the market. He went on to become General Manager for stations in Nashville and Dallas, and following his Clear Channel Cincinnati years became Market Manager for them in Cleveland and Charlotte. He joined Cumulus in 2010 when he assumed responsibility for their Lexington properties.
"I grew up in Cincinnati and I'm looking forward to coming home and playing a key role in the future success of the Cumulus Broadcasting Cincinnati Cluster of radio stations," Kenney said.
COO Jon Pinch said, "As always we look to promote from within. Mike has done an outstanding job growing our Lexington business and his return to Cincinnati makes good sense for him and for Cumulus."
