Four Physiatrists Join Marianjoy Medical Group

WHEATON, Ill., Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Marianjoy Medical Group recently announced the addition of Kevin Harris, M.D., Megan Parkes, M.D., Anjum Sayyad, M.D., and Simge Yonter, M.D., to the physical medicine and rehabilitation practice located at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton.

Dr. Kevin Harris will be practicing at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton and Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora. Dr. Harris graduated from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and completed his residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. In addition to general physical medicine and rehabilitation, his areas of clinical interest include electrodiagnostic studies (EMG). He is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Megan Parkes graduated from Rush College of Medicine at Rush University and completed her residency at Rush University Medical Center. In joining the Marianjoy Medical Group, Dr. Parkes' focus will be on all levels of rehabilitation and she will treat patients at Marianjoy's Oak Brook Terrace location. Dr. Parkes is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.

Dr. Anjum Sayyad graduated from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and completed her residency at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. Sayyad's focus will be on all levels of rehabilitation and she will see patients at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Sayyad is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Dr. Simge Yonter graduated from Ankara University in Ankara, Turkey and completed her residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Yonter will see patients at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital's Transitional Care Unit. Dr. Yonter is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

The Marianjoy Medical Group (MMG) consists of 25 physiatrists who manage over 200 acute rehab beds, eight outpatient clinics and 170 subacute rehab beds in the western Chicago suburbs. MMG physicians provide a variety of physical medicine and rehabilitation services to adults and children with disabilities and are on the medical staff at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital as well as 20 community hospitals and academic medical centers.
