ECCHO to Present Check Payments Workshop and Keynote Address at Orbograph's 13th Recognition User Conference

BILLERICA, Mass., Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Orbograph, a leading developer of recognition solutions for the financial industry, today announced the selection of David Walker as the keynote speaker for its 13th Recognition User Conference in Boston, MA on October 3-4, 2011. Walker, President and CEO of the Electronic Check Clearing House Organization (ECCHO) and recent selection as a Top 10 Innovator of the Decade by Bank Systems & Technology, will discuss on Tuesday, October 4th recent trends in check and electronic payments, the industry's challenges, and will address inventive solutions for the market.

ECCHO continues to drive industry consensus on enhancements to the check payment system and recently developed a joint comment letter with BITS, ICBA and The Clearing House on proposed changes to Regulation CC. ECCHO's Rules are the predominant image exchange rules employed by financial institutions in the U.S. Additionally this year, the ECCHO team developed a National Check Payments Certification Program (NCPC) for the financial industry that is intended, in part, to recognize an elevated level of payments acumen among payment professionals with experience in check, ACH, treasury, product, card, fraud and risk mitigation. Through the certification process, National Check Professionals (NCPs) will demonstrate a working knowledge of every significant aspect of the new check payment system including products and operations, relevant rules and laws that govern checks, industry standards and fraud and risk mitigation considerations.

On October 3rd, ECCHO will also host a Check Payments Workshop at the Orbograph User Conference. Led by Phyllis Meyerson, EVP and Ellen Heffner, Director, Product Management, the workshop will focus on the implications of recent industry regulations and research data including ECCHO rules, Reg CC., "Rule 8", and others. Additionally, attendees will receive a specialized review of the new NCPC certification program for evaluation at their organization.

"The Orbograph User Conference provides a venue for the financial industry to gain invaluable insights into revolutionary changes to the check payment system," said David Walker. "ECCHO's goal at this conference is to provide perspectives on these changes and how financial organizations can benefit from a more efficient check payment system."

Barry Cohen, General Manager of Orbograph Ltd., stated, "We are elated to have one of the industry's top innovators present at our conference. We believe that ECCHO's insights will provide the information to our attendees that help build their roadmaps for the next several years."
