Two Courses to be held December 5-9, 2011
The Stanford Center for Professional Development and Center for Lifelong Learning at the University of Texas at Austin announce their collaboration to offer two courses within the professional certificate program: Strategic Decision and Risk Management. The courses are open to industry professionals and will be held on December 5-9, 2011 at the Federal Reserve Bank Conference Center in Houston.
"This collaboration extends the research and teaching of Stanford faculty to professionals in the energy industry and related fields," said Andy DiPaolo, senior associate dean of Stanford Engineering. "Past participants note the positive and lasting impact of the program in both their professional and personal lives."
The courses are Decision Quality and Leading Strategic Decision-Making and include:
- Best practices for making smarter, faster, and more creative long-term decisions: framing decisions appropriately, generating creative alternatives, forecasting with ranges of uncertainty, and evaluating choices.
- Skills to lead strategic decision-making processes: diagnosing a decision situation, designing an approach, managing upward, guiding decision boards, and assessing the level of quality achieved.
