CHICAGO, Aug. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Invest in Others Charitable Foundation, Inc., a public charity that supports the philanthropic and volunteer efforts of financial advisors across the country, will host its third annual 5K Run/Walk at Burnham Park along Lake Michigan in Chicago on Sunday, August 7, 2011.
The race is open to the general public, including runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels. Online registration instructions and additional information are located at http://www.investinothers.org/5k.
Invest in Others will make a donation of $25,000 on behalf of 5K participants to BUILD, a Chicago-based charity engaging at-risk youth. The funds will be used to provide approximately 3,700 youths in the Chicago area with violence prevention and intervention, youth development, and coalition building, so they may realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety, and well-being of their community. In addition, Invest in Others will award the fastest male and female runners and the runners-up in two categories with a generous donation to the charity of their choice.
